Malkia, meaning ‘queen’, was established by Phionah Musumba in Vihiga County, Kenya, to support disadvantaged girls and women through the facilitation of trainings on leadership and common challenges facing women and girls, as well as the provision of school fees and sanitary supplies. Malkia is actively working towards establishing the first STEM School for girls in the region, as a well as a vocational training center to give girls and young women the skills and confidence they need to explore a full range of careers.
